A High energy, low impact, fat-burning workout that focuses on intensive isometric movements that sculpt the thighs, tone and firm the seat, flatten the abdominals and define the arms. Based on the elements of Pilates, classical ballet and athletic conditioning, Core Barre creates effective and safe movements where body strength and awareness are increased as well as flexibility, posture, stability and form.
The class begins with a short warm-up followed by the use of light (2-3 lbs) weights to build arm strength and increase the heart rate. Once at the barre, small isolated movements help target the thighs and seat. Core muscles are engaged throughout the class but will be targeted with more specific abdominal matwork. This 60 minute class is suitable for people of all fitness levels who want to safely create the long, lean, defined look of a dancer while having fun!!
